A top Iranian commander says the country has flourished despite economic sanctions and its supersonic ballistic missiles can hit enemy warships with high accuracy

“We flourished while under economic siege and today our supersonic ballistic missiles can hit moving enemy warships with 100 percent accuracy,” said the deputy commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Hossein Salami on Saturday.

“Unmanned aerial vehicles of the Iranian Armed Forces can fly for thousands of kilometers and monitor the slightest enemy movements,” he added.

He added that Iran cannot be overlooked in the current political equations of the world.

The commander said the whole world and even the United States suffer insecurity and instability economically and otherwise, adding, “Iran is currently the port of stability.”

Salami stated that Iran enjoys great power today and emphasized that the Islamic Republic has dominance over the global economy.

In recent years, Iran has made important breakthroughs in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing important military equipment and systems.

The Islamic Republic has repeatedly made clear that its military might is merely based on the nation's defense doctrine of deterrence and poses no threat to other countries.
